Are the drop rates in the recycler actually not accurate?

I just watched JCF's stream and he mentioned how the drop rates in the recycler wasn't accurate, and i've been noticing thst too. Ever since the recycler came out, i've been spamming the recycler with vehicle parts with steel in the second slot hour by hour(lvl 27 in mechanics) and i havent gotten a steel bar at all yet when i dropped 6 batteries (lvl 17 in electronics so about 8%) i got 4 copper bars. I mean, copper is just as good as steel, but still

I don’t think anyone has the working formula for the recycler %.

Or how the % is figured when related to items produced.

Would be nice to have clarification from the Devs, but then again there are a lot of things ingame that would be nice...

I'm thinking that, for instance, batteries, you get a percentage to drop 1 or more copper

Something clearly is up with batteries. I've had two copper bars drop from one battery. I had over 350 batteries, and have generated nearly half that in copper. I've got about 50 batteries left, and I'm doing nothing but them until they're gone, because I suspect it will be fixed by Kefir at some point.

Just came across a couple of stacks of batteries in a raid, which is pretty much the equivalent of a full stack of copper bars. Pretty amazing.

yea, the percentage for batteries is way off: I am level 33 electronics and was predicted a 11% chance for copper. So I stuffed 20 batteries in this morning and got 12(!) copper out in the evening. Maybe in russia they calculate differently ;-)
But clearly Kefir will change that. Right now batteries are the very best way to get copper (steel) - so good that its better to farm for batteries instead of going into the northern zone - which makes the northern copper zones useless. This surely will be changed soon: either by nerfing the battery-yield or buffing the yield in the northern copper zone.

Im doing some testing and documentation on a full stack of batts. Tracking each roll completion. Will post later tonight, to see if we can make reason out of the numbers.

Not sure what ya’ll think but when we reach max level in a recycling skill, i think it makes sense that our recycling times reduce. Its like mastering a skill, and we should get faster at the task.

The way the drop rate seems to work is IMO you X% chance of a good drop possibility, then Y% chance of the item dropping. X being the chance stated in the recycler, and Y being the rate of drop for a particular item. Stacking items seems to increase this drop rate, which may be intentional. I've only gotten 1 steel bar from vehicle parts and I'm level 31. I've gotten numerous copper bars from batteries at only level 23 on electronics, and several Aluminum bars from empty cans at only level 5 on "other". Just my two cents.

Focus on one specific skill. I knocked out electronics. Next is mechanics. Then firearms. Just my opinion.
Oh and yeah, I’ve gotten tons of copper from batteries. I still have maybe 300 batteries, 160 phones, 200 usb drives, and a chest of amps. Now while my copper is cooking to steel, I’m putting ate tanks in there.

I run mine based on recycle time. Electronics are great for overnight, cans, firearms and parts are good for during work, and clothes and melee are good for when I'm watching TV.

I'm aiming long term, 3x4 I'm done with 3 corners, witch means I still lack 9 floors and 10 walls...
