Since the last update, 1.6.0, we've been experiencing this bug wherein fuel continues to burn out unless you remove the finish product out of it's box. So I want to get information on how much fuel (specifically charcoal) you need for every recipe.

    Recipe:
    1 Raw Meat = 1 Juicy Steak therefore 20 Raw Meat + 6 Charcoal = 20 Juicy Steak
    3 Berries = 1 Berry Tea therefore 18 Berries + 5 Charcoal = 6 Berry Tea
    1 Carrot = 1 Carrot Stew therefore 20 Carrot + 6 Charcoal = 20 Carrot Stew
    1 Pine Wood = 1 Charcoal therefore 20 Pine Wood + 12 Charcoal = 20 Charcoal
    1 Pine Plank = 2 Charcoal therefore 10 Pine Plank + 6 Charcoal = 20 Charcoal
    2 Iron Ore = 1 Iron Bar therefore 20 Iron Ore + 8 Charcoal = 10 Iron Bar
    4 Scrap Metal = 1 Iron Bar therefore 20 Scrap Metal + 2 Charcoal = 5 Iron Bar
    2 Aluminum Wire = 1 Aluminum Bar therefore 20 Aluminum Wire + 50 Charcoal = 10 Aluminum Bar
    4 Bauxite Ore = 1 Aluminum Bar therefore 20 Bauxite Ore + 57 Charcoal = 5 Aluminum Bar
    5 Copper Ore = 1 Copper Bar therefore 20 Copper Ore + 45 Charcoal = 4 Copper Bar

As everyone can see, I only know 2 combination. So if anyone is 100% sure on how much charcoals you need for any of the recipes, please let me know and I'll edit this list to help myself and everyone conserve our resources specifically CHARCOAL! :D Thanks in advance!

Since none of you care, I computed it MYSELF! I am 100% sure, that is the correct number of charcoals you guys need for each material. So put the exact amount and save up some charcoal, unless of course, they change it back then don't bother.

@Nico , here's the list you were asking.

    Recipe:
    1 Raw Meat = 1 Juicy Steak therefore 20 Raw Meat + 20 Pine Log = 20 Juicy Steak
    3 Berries = 1 Berry Tea therefore 18 Berries + 18 Pine Log = 6 Berry Tea
    1 Carrot = 1 Carrot Stew therefore 20 Carrot + 20 Pine Log = 20 Carrot Stew
    1 Pine Log = 1 Charcoal therefore 20 Pine Log + 40 Pine Log = 20 Charcoal
    1 Pine Plank = 2 Charcoal therefore 10 Pine Plank + 20 Pine Log = 20 Charcoal
    2 Iron Ore = 1 Iron Bar therefore 20 Iron Ore + 30 Pine Log = 10 Iron Bar
    4 Scrap Metal = 1 Iron Bar therefore 20 Scrap Metal + 8 Pine Log = 5 Iron Bar
    2 Aluminum Wire = 1 Aluminum Bar therefore 20 Aluminum Wire + 200 Pine Log = 10 Aluminum Bar
    4 Bauxite Ore = 1 Aluminum Bar therefore 20 Bauxite Ore + 225 Pine Log = 5 Aluminum Bar

So base from these numbers, if you use Pine Log for Campfire, you will be using x3.33 more than what you need when you use Charcoal. Likewise for Melting Furnace, you will be using x4 more than Charcoal.

So imo, it is best to use CHARCOAL! :D I love using charcoal for barbecue. YUM! :p

    Hope this helps.

1 copper bar + 1 aluminum bar + 1 iron bar + 2 charcoal (part of the recipe)= 1 steel bar. Takes 17 charcoal to complete this for 1 steel bar ! So technically takes 19 charcoal if you add the 2 needed for the recipe

To maximize pine logs convert it first to planks then burn the planks for charcoal.
    Proof:
    1 Pine Log = 1 Charcoal
    1 Pine Plank = 2 Charcoal
    1 Pine Log = 1 Plank
Therefore, if you convert logs into planks first before you burn them you technically get 2 charcoal for every log.
It requires time but it's more efficient.
    Hope this helps!

Yes, the bug is definitely fixed by now. Before 1.6.4 I believe. That's the first version I had been playing, and the current version is 1.6.5 (the Halloween update).

I never had encountered the dwindling fuel problem. I come home and even if there's nothing on the fire, the fuel doesn't spend itself to nothingness. I deliberately overload the charcoal to satisfy the cooking batches more than one stack in a row.

It doesn't continue to cook/smelt/burn the food/metal/plank when the final results are maxed out at 20 ofc, but the fuel remains and soon as I pull the resulting stack out, it resumes on its way with the rest of the raw materials just perfectly fine (even when in the middle of using up a charcoal midway).

Adding... it helps to have TWO stations cutting logs into planks then have a second campfire dedicated to charcoal production (while the first campfire cook foods ofc).

Just a couple of additional back-and-forth between the stations, campfires and the chests (be sure to place all of them close together!), costing only a few extra seconds of clicking.

    DEFINITELY WORTH IT!! :D

To make Charcoal best way is use 1 Pine plank + 2 Pine Log(Fuel) =2 Charcoal

    Additionally...
Step 1: Make 6 Charcoal from logs or planks (see above quote)
Step 2: Make 10 Planks from 10 Logs.
Step 3: Burn the 10 Planks using the 6 Charcoal to get 20 Charcoal.

Kindly correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is much cheaper.

instead of using (20 Iron Ore + 8 Charcoal = 10 Iron Bar) use
16 Iron Ore + 6 Charcoal = 8 Iron Bar ; because you'll be wasting 0.5 Charcoal in burning the extra 4 Iron Ore

Also I think the 20 Scrap Metal + 2 Charcoal = 5 Iron Bar computation is wrong.

It should be 16 Scrap Metal + 3 Charcoal = 4 Iron Bar
